Build a Home Kit
With Essential Supplies

Should a wide-spread disaster occur, do you have the supplies you’ll need in case you are without power, heat and/or water for several days. Remember, in these types of events, transportation routes may be disrupted, grocery stores may run out of the items you need and banks and gas stations may not be able to operate as usual.
By planning ahead, you can minimize the impact for yourself and your loved ones!
Create a Disaster Supply Kit for your Home that includes the basic items you’ll need to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 3 days. Supplies include water and food as well as items for shelter and warmth, first aid, communication, personal hygiene and sanitation. In case your home is damaged and you have to leave, be sure to include a backpack or similar easy-to-travel bag so you can pack some of these items to go!
Use the calculator to get a detailed list of the things you’ll need for everyone in your household!
In addition to your Home Kit, make sure you have supplies for your Car and Pets. For any emergency kit, consider unique items for infants and specialty items like required medications, prescriptions and more!
If you have children in school, talk with their school to learn about their preparedness plan and supplies.
